FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for quantitative determination of content of tanning substances in medicinal herbal preparations. Disclosed is a method which uses standard form of pyrogallol for medicinal herbal preparations containing hydrolysable tanning substances, determination is carried out at wave length 266 nm; and (+) catechine for medicinal herbal preparations containing condensed tanning substances, determination is performed at wave length of 278 nm. Measurement is carried out in the cuvette with layer thickness of 10 mm relative to the reference solution, and water is used as the reference solution.
EFFECT: method simplifies sample preparation and reduces analysis time.
