FIELD: devices for destruction of pests or weeds.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-toxic means of destroying harmful insects and can be used in households against synanthropic insects, such as cockroaches, bed bugs, ants, house crickets, etc. To produce an insecticide preparation, diatomite is ground in a mill and dried, after which a cyclone-separated target fraction with particle size of 5–100 mcm, purified from impurity minerals, which is supplied to furnace with air flow, subjected to burning and then burnt powder is deposited. Firing of target fraction is carried out at temperature of 850–900 °C for 1–2 seconds, after sedimentation of calcined powder, its air classification is carried out with separation of finished product fractions with average particle size of 10–15 mcm, 7–9 mcm and 5 mcm. It is preferable to use a vertical furnace equipped with gas burners in the lower part, roasting the target fraction in the flue gases with further cooling of the burnt powder in the upper part of the furnace with cold air.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a nontoxic insecticide.
