FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cartridge for passive adsorption of hydrocarbons and can be used for adsorption of hydrocarbons from a gas-air mixture of soil with subsequent determination of their mass concentration by chromatography-mass spectrometry. Cartridge comprises housing from metal mesh and sorbent. During cartridge adsorption is arranged in membrane jacket. Sorbent used is a complex adsorbent consisting of silica gel KSK, Tenax-TA and modified activated carbon in the following ratio, wt. %: 0.5:2:1. Activated carbon modified with monolayer of 5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil can be used as modified activated carbon. Membrane cover can contain three cells, in each of which there is one cartridge with a complex adsorbent. Moisture-transmissive material can be used as the membrane.
EFFECT: providing passive adsorption of hydrocarbons, which enables to identify a wide range of hydrocarbons, tightly transport the cartridge and avoid ingress of moisture and various impurities on the sorbent.
