FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used in the construction of pressure cylinders as accumulators of gaseous media for breathing apparatus and other units, as well as any other devices using compressed gas tanks. Shatterproof pressure cylinder 1 consists of a cylindrical part 2 and convex bottoms 3 and contains an outer power shell 4 of composite materials and an inner sealing metal liner 9. Power shell 4 is formed by a combination of annular 5, on the cylindrical part, and spiral 6 layers on the basis of tapes 7 and 8 for annular and spiral layers, respectively, of a continuous unidirectional reinforcing material bonded with a polymeric binder in the form of threads or bundles. Power shell 4 contains at least one additional annular 10 and spiral 11 layer. Additional annular layer is made in the form of two separate annular belts located at a distance of (0.2–1.2)D from each other, where D is the diameter of the cylindrical part and reaching the ends of the cylindrical part.
EFFECT: invention provides shatterproof destruction of the pressure cylinder under the action of the calculated internal pressure, which increases the reliability of the design with the extension of the range of applicability.
