SUBSTANCE: disclosed are fibers containing one or more marked fibers, which have identification marks on surface in form of repeating pattern along length of marked fibers. Labeled fibers can be included in the yarn or bundles of fibers in order to present information on the supply chain of yarn, fiber bundles and / or articles made from fiber bundles or yarns. In one specific example, the marked fibers can be included in a bundle of acetate fiber.

EFFECT: marked fibers can be extracted from cigarette filter, repeating pattern can be decoded, and supply chain information associated with a bundle of acetate fiber used to make a cigarette filter, such as a manufacturer, a customer, a delivery point and even a bale of acetate fiber can be obtained.
