FIELD: laser welding.
SUBSTANCE: laser welding of a first metal substrate and a second metal substrate and a system for its implementation. Laser welding of the first metal substrate having the first flat surface and the second flat surface opposite to the first flat surface and the second metal substrate is carried out by placing the end surface of the second metal substrate near the first flat surface. The fibre laser generates an incoming laser beam. The laser welding system comprises a radiation delivery system that is configured to receive an incoming laser beam and generate an outgoing laser beam having a beam spot that moves in a predetermined pattern along first and second axes to irradiate a target area on a second flat surface such that the target zone is located above the area of intersection of the first flat surface, and while the end surface is located near the first flat surface.

EFFECT: technical result consists in expanding the technological capabilities that make it possible to weld titanium alloy substrates of complex design with obtaining uniform hardness, low porosity and a fine-grained structure.
