FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Keratoprosthesis comprises: a central optical core and a peripheral skirt comprising a porous biologically compatible layer having a pore size of 2 mcm; wherein said transparent central optical core has a diameter of at least 3 mm, and it further comprises an expanded portion extending under the surface formed by the central core and skirt. Peripheral skirt has width of 3 mm so that it can be placed under the conjunctiva and above the sclera of the eye.
EFFECT: using the given invention enables improving optical quality of the artificial tissue flap for transplantation, improving biointegration and improving resistance to injury.
