FIELD: thermal physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of heat exchange systems, namely to passive systems of radiator type, in particular radiators for LED lighting fixtures. Unlike known technical solution radiator is made of repeating figures consisting of faces (curvilinear surfaces), arranged so that any opposite or nearby lying face (curvilinear surface) lies relative to opposite or lying nearby face (curved surface) at angle equal to or more than 30, but not more than 179 degrees with opening outside, from radiator. Radiator material must have high heat conductivity, high radiation coefficient and low absorption coefficient in the infrared range (wavelength 0.7–1,000 mcm) or have a coating providing said coefficients, wherein the surface must be smooth and glossy. Surface shape and coating shall ensure maximum output of infrared radiation from radiator surface with minimum absorption of said radiation, if it falls on opposite faces. Optimum coating can be a white glossy paint based on acrylic, epoxy resin, oily, powder, alkyd, etc.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of heat removal of passive cooling radiators irrespective of their position in space due to increase of infrared radiation component.
