FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to a system of fuel cells and a method of controlling said system, and can be used in various devices for power generation. Fuel cell system controller controls cathode gas supply to increase average fuel cell voltage of fuel cells due to increased supply of cathode gas to battery of fuel cells, when electric power required to generate fuel cell battery is equal to zero, and average voltage of element is below preset target voltage. When controlling supply of cathode gas controller sets target voltage value, when a predetermined condition indicative of the probability of cross-leakage is met, the value is higher than the reference output voltage as the output voltage in case this condition is not met.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is prevention of abrupt reduction of voltage, which can lead to reduction of service life of fuel elements, as well as increase in efficiency of fuel elements operation.
