FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: hydroelectric power plant refers to autonomous hydroelectric power plants operating in winter mode in parallel to existing power supply system. Summary of invention consists in the fact that energy is represented by cold energy of negative ambient temperatures and natural phenomenon of water freezing in closed space is used taking into account that during freezing the volume increases by 11 % with excess pressure of 2,500 kg/cm2, and this physical law is taken as a basis for operation of a hydroelectric power plant. Main working element is air-hydraulic converter actuator, which includes power cylinder, where water freezing is performed with condition of volume increase by 11 %, through lever mechanism, cold energy (2500 kg/cm2) is transmitted to air-hydraulic conversion drive, to air-hydraulic cylinder, where air cushion is provided in piston cavity providing smoothening of shock wave during freezing, and obtained pressure is directed to hydraulic turbine. Hydraulic turbine of multistage and nominal number of air-hydroconversion drives provides rated power at sequence of connections. Water undergoes preliminary preparation (cooling within +4 °C) and dosage, hydraulic station operates in automatic mode: pouring, dosing, automatic selection of operating mode of hydraulic station, removal of ice, control of generator operation mode. Hydrostation is in closed room with minimum temperature mode (+10 °C).

EFFECT: feature of hydraulic station is that energy of cold is unlimited space energy and most economic kind of energy.
