FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the battery industry and can be used, in particular, as a lead-carbon metal composite material for fabrication of current collectors used in lead-acid batteries. According to the invention, the lead-carbon metal composite material contains 0.1 to 10 wt% of carbon, lead – the rest, at that said material structure contains carbon allotropic modifications of graphene or graphite. Method of material synthesis is characterized by that lead or its alloys are melted in molten halides of alkali and/or alkali-earth metals, containing from 1 to 20 wt% of carbides of metals or non-metals with particle size from 100 nm to 200 mcm, or solid organic substances, for 1–5 hours at temperature of 700–900 °C.
EFFECT: improved specific electrochemical and corrosion characteristics of a lead-acid battery without cardinal change of the battery manufacturing process.
