SUBSTANCE: absorbent article 1 comprises absorbent structure 4. Wrapping material 42 of absorbent structure 4 is formed from non-woven material, which has specified surface density, contains a layer of long fibers and is fixed in connections by fusion. Long fiber is a single-layer fiber produced by homogenous spinning of melted thermoplastic polymer material consisting of a single polymer. Absorbent core 41 has sections 43 free from fibers. Wrapping material 42 on the skin facing side and wrapping material 42 on the side not facing the skin are connected to each other in each fiber-free section 43 by means of connections 8. Ratio of the region of compounds 8 and the region of fiber-free sections 43 is in a given interval. Connections 8 are arranged according to the specified pattern.

EFFECT: disclosed is an absorbent article.
