SUBSTANCE: diaper (1A) has an indicator area (60) in which an indicator (6) is contained between the back sheet (3) and the absorbent member (4). The absorbent member (4) consists of a lower layer absorbent member (41) that extends along the entire length of the diaper (1A) and an upper layer absorbent member (42) that extends from the abdominal portion (A) only to the crotch bottom (C) and is divided into a main absorbent region (4M) on which the upper layer absorbent element (42) and the lower layer absorbent element (41) overlap; and an additional absorbent area (4E), which is not part of it. The surface density of the absorbent polymer of the lower layer absorbent member (41) is higher in the main absorbent area (4M) than in the additional absorbent area (4E). The surface density of the absorbent polymer of the upper layer absorbent element (42) is lower than the surface density of the absorbent polymer of the lower layer absorbent element (41). The indicator region (60) is located in the main absorbent area (4M) and the edge portion (60b) on the underside of the portion (B) containing the area indicator (60) is near the edge portion (4Mb) on the underside of the portion (B) of the main absorbent area (4M).
