FIELD: drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wood drying technologies and can be used in woodworking and furniture industry. Method of drying wood includes stacking wood products in a drying chamber, installing electrodes with electrical contact between them and wood products, applying an electric field with intensity of 200–260 V/m on a pile of wood products and supplying a drying agent for moisture evaporation from the surface of wood, wherein said electrodes are mounted at wood product ends and electric field is applied with constant component directed along wood fibres. Polarity of the pulsed electric field is changed to the opposite one after 50–90 hours; at that, the duration of application of reverse polarity power supply should be 8–10 hours.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is higher reliability of technological process and reduced energy consumption for dehydration of wood.
