FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to device for fault determination and failure detection method. Device for determining a fault according to one aspect of the present invention is a fault detection device which is configured to determine a failure of a fluid medium supply device used in a pump, wherein the fault detection device comprises a mechanical stress response reading unit configured to read a response to mechanical stress indicating a temporary change in the mechanical stress applied to the pressurized fluid supply device, a unit for calculating the degree of accumulated fatigue damages, configured to calculate the degree of accumulated fatigue damages of the fluid medium supply device based on the reaction to mechanical stress, unit for calculating rate of reduction of service life, made with possibility of calculating rate of reduction of service life, which is rate of change of degree of accumulated fatigue damages in time, and a determination unit configured to determine a malfunction of the pressurized fluid supply device based on the extent of the accumulated fatigue damages and the service life reduction rate, wherein the fluid medium supply device under pressure is made with possibility of its use only during the specified time of use during pump operation.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of fault determination.
