FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for reforming naphtha and a method for production thereof. Catalyst contains a sulphate-containing aluminum oxide carrier and the following components with content per metal amount of group VIII of 0.1–2.0 wt%; group VIIB metal of 0.1–3.0 wt%; sulphate ions 0.45–3.0 wt%; halogen 0.5–3.0 wt%. Said sulphate-containing aluminum oxide support has a sodium content of 0.008 % to 0.03 % by weight. Ratio of porous volume of pores with pore radius between 3 nm and 10 nm to total pore volume in said catalyst ranges from 60 % to 85 %; ratio of pore volume of pores with pore radius of less than 3 nm to total pore volume is not more than 36 %; and ratio of porous volume of pores with pore radius of more than 10 nm to total porous volume is more than 2 %. Method of producing catalyst includes the following stages, at which: (1) mixing sodium aluminate and aluminum sulphate in molar ratio of 1 to 10:1, adjusting the pH of the solution to achieve settling, by two-step deposition, where in the first stage the pH value of the system is maintained between 7.3 and 8.5 for deposition for 10 to 50 minutes, in the second stage, the pH value of the system is maintained between 8.6 and 10.0, followed by holding at a temperature in range from 60 °C to 150 °C, and the obtained solid substance is subjected to washing with water and drying to obtain sulphate-ion-containing pseudoboehmite powder, in which sulphate ions have content of 0.45 % to 3.0 % by weight, with respect to aluminum oxide; (2) adding the acid solution to the pseudo-boehmite powder obtained in step (1) for compounding and extruding, then drying and calcining to obtain a sulphate-containing aluminum oxide support; (3) optionally subjected to hydrothermal treatment produced at stage (2) at temperature in range from 450 °C to 850 °C; (4) impregnating the support from step (2) or a support subjected to optional hydrothermal treatment in step (3), an aqueous solution containing a group VIII metal, group VIIB metal and halogen, as an impregnating solution, then impregnated solid material is dried and annealed.

EFFECT: catalyst is used in naphtha reforming reaction without preliminary sulphonation and has high activity in formation of aromatic compounds and selectivity.
