FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of vehicle location. Said technical result is achieved by the fact that the controller is configured to support the last known location of the vehicle and when satellite location data are not available from a satellite-based positioning system, use compass data and stability control data for estimating current position of vehicle at last known location of vehicle; controller is also configured to avoid using compass data to estimate current position of vehicle when vehicle accelerates or decelerates in east or west direction.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining location of a vehicle in weak signal conditions for satellite-based positioning systems (for example, GPS) / receiving GPS with aids (aGPS).
