SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method of encoding colour display information comprising at least one colour conversion, comprises encoding first parameters representing video signal characteristics of decoded images color-coded by said at least one colour conversion; and encoding second parameters representing said at least one colour conversion; wherein the first parameters representing video signal characteristics comprise at least one of the following syntax elements: first syntax element (colour_map_video_full_range_flag), second syntax element (colour_map_primaries), a third syntax element (colour_map_transfer_characteristics) and a fourth syntax element (colour_map_matrix_coeffs), describing decoded images subjected to colour display by means of at least one colour conversion.
EFFECT: technical result consists in efficient encoding / decoding of video signal in two different presentation formats.
