SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding. Video content encoding method includes: encoding a plurality of frames into an encoded bit stream; providing in encoded bit stream of information associated with at least part of encoded plurality of frames and indicating required output characteristic, which indicates that said at least part of plurality of frames should be used together with other encoded frame to obtain decoded frame, wherein the information includes an indicator indicating whether the entire frame of the plurality of encoded frames or part of the corresponding frame is to be displayed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in determining whether the frame of the video stream is suitable for output, depending on the information indicating the quality of the frame.
