SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for separation of liquid and solid phases of suspension. Control method disc vacuum filter characterized in that at given points in time, a set of values of input parameters is determined from a given set of input parameters, wherein the input parameters characterize the pulp properties, by the selection method, the optimum set of control parameters values is set from the given set of control parameters, at which the set of values of the output parameters from the given set of output parameters becomes equal to the target set of values of the output parameters, wherein output parameters characterize cake properties and store in memory a plurality of pairs of sets of values of input parameters and corresponding optimum sets of values of control parameters, and then, when determining a set of values of input parameters, automatically transmitting to actuators control commands corresponding to the optimal set of values of control parameters, which is a pair for a given set of values of input parameters. Disk vacuum filter control device comprises actuators operating in accordance with a set of control parameter values, pulp state sensors, at given points in time determining a set of values of input parameters from a given set of input parameters, cake state sensors determining a set of values of output parameters from a given set of output parameters, an input information unit capable of displaying a set of values of input parameters determined by pulp state sensors, and set of values of output parameters, determined by sensors of cake state, unit for input of control commands, capable of transmitting to actuators control commands, corresponding set of values of control parameters, which can be entered by operator, or received from automatic control unit, automatic control unit, capable in case when set of values of output parameters becomes equal to target set of values of output parameters, to count the set of control parameter values entered by an operator through a control command input unit by an optimum set of control parameter values for a given set of values of input parameters and to store in memory a plurality of pairs of a set of values of input parameters and corresponding optimum sets of values of control parameters, and during subsequent receipt from unit of input information set of values of input parameters to transmit to control unit input pairs of its optimal set of values of control parameters.
