SUBSTANCE: invention relates to regeneration of filter elements. Disclosed is a method for regenerating a ceramic filter element, comprising introducing into the pores of the walls of the filter element an aqueous solution of oxalic acid and an alkali metal or ammonium thiocyanate, wherein the ratio of the weight of oxalic acid and the weight of the alkali metal or ammonium thiocyanate, when the total weight of said components is 100 %, ranges from 40:60 % to 60:40 %, and the ratio of the total weight of oxalic acid and alkali metal or ammonium thiocyanate and the weight of water, when the weight of the aqueous solution is taken as 100 %, ranges from 1:99 % to 20:80 %. Also disclosed is a composition for regenerating a ceramic filter element.
EFFECT: restoration of water permeability of side walls of ceramic filtering element and extension of service life of ceramic filtering element.
