SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to production of powder particles by atomisation of a raw material in the form of an elongated element. Raw material is introduced into the plasma burner. Front part of raw material is moved from plasma torch into nozzle for atomisation of plasma torch. Front end of the raw material is subjected to surface melting by exposing it to one or more plasma jets formed in the nozzle for atomisation. One or more plasma jets include an annular plasma jet, a plurality of converging plasma jets or a combination of an annular plasma jet with a plurality of converging plasma jets. Versions of devices for production of powder particles are also proposed.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of powder particles production.
