SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and vehicle for detecting threats in anticipation of vehicle doors opening. Vehicle sensors (for example, rear view cameras) can be used to identify and classify a motion participant, for example, as pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders, roller-skaters, wheelchairs, etc., approaching from the side of the vehicle. When there is a probability of opening by occupant in the vehicle of door to approaching traffic participant, warning may be issued in vehicle cabin to warn people occupying place in vehicle about approaching traffic participant. In one aspect, the vehicle prevents opening of the door if opening of the door is likely to cause an emergency collision.
EFFECT: higher safety is achieved.
