In the first embodiment, the vehicle comprises a frame, a door, a lever, upper and lower stoppers, sensors and a processor. Lever includes a plurality of troughs and is slidable through the upper and lower rollers that are offset from the lever when the door is turned. Upper and lower stoppers are made with the ability to press the upper and lower rollers to the lever, stopping turning the door. In the second embodiment, the vehicle contains a retarder. Method for stopping the vehicle's pivot door includes the steps in which, by means of the vehicle processor, recognize, using sensors, recognized events, and activate and remove the stops based on the recognized events.
EFFECT: preventing obstacles from colliding with the door of the vehicle when it is opened.
