SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a sulfur-free copolymer containing at least one alkyl methacrylate and maleic anhydride, characterized by a number-average molecular weight of 3,000–9,000 g/mol, by polymerisation in a solution in the presence of a radical polymerisation initiator.
EFFECT: method provides high output and conversion of monomers based on alkyl methacrylate and maleic anhydride without any purification step.
