SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing aqueous solutions of polymers of acrylic acid. Disclosed is a method of producing aqueous solutions of polymers of acrylic acid through polymerisation of acrylic acid in a feed mode with a radical initiator, in the presence of hypophosphite, in water as solvent, characterized by that acrylic acid, aqueous solution of radical initiator and water solution of hypophosphite is added so, that the molar ratio of x acrylic acid to radially cleavable phosphorus-bonded hydrogen [AS]/[P-H] during the conversion of at least 75 % acrylic acid has a constant value, in range from 0.8 to 2 with deviation to ±0.5.

EFFECT: technical result is obtaining polymers of acrylic acid with low residual content of the regulator and otherwise unchanged or improved properties.
