METHOD OF ENDOSCOPIC PUNCTURE LASER REMOVAL OF MAXILLARY SINUS CYST Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B17/24 A61N5/67

Abstract RU 2693449 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to operative otorhinolaryngology. To remove the retention cyst of the maxillary sinus through the inferior nasal passage, two maxillary sinus punctures are performed. One puncture is performed with the help of Kulikovsky’s needle, and another – with the help of trocar. Further, the trocar and the Kulikovsky’s needle are introduced into the maxillary sinus parallel to each other, placing the latter under the trocar. Then, Kulikovsky’s needle is fed with a Ho-YAG laser fiber and an endoscope in a trocar. Then, endoscope-controlled Ho-YAG laser fiber is inserted into cyst cavity to perform laser exposure to explosive rupture of cyst shell. Then the maxillary sinus is sanitized, for which it is washed through the trocar with an antiseptic and the contents are suctioned off using an electric suction unit.

EFFECT: method provides removing the retention cyst of the maxillary sinus through a lower nasal passage, preventing intraoperative and postoperative complications, reducing intraoperative injuries by using an endoscope and a Ho-YAG laser using an optimal technique, elimination of destruction of anatomical structures of ostiomeal complex and an anterior wall of maxillary sinus, minimal blood loss, as well as exclusion of incisions, sutures, while preserving radical treatment of retention cysts.
