DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DRAINAGE OF THE MAXILLARY SINUS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B17/24 A61B17/34 A61M25/00

Abstract RU 2786328 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to medical equipment, in particular to surgical instruments intended for puncture and drainage of a maxillary sinus cyst. The maxillary sinus drain consists of a hollow main tube with a cannula and a ribbed handle. The main tube has an anatomically curved S-shape. The outer diameter of the main tube is 3 mm, the wall thickness of the main tube is 0.5 mm, the working end of the main tube is made in the form of a triangular needle tip, and the through hole through which the washing liquid enters is located on the main tube directly behind the tip, the bending angle of the working end main tube 135°, main tube angle 55°. Inside the main tube there is a built-in tube in such a way that the liquid flows through two independent channels through the hole on the main tube. The built-in tube has an independent cannula with an elastic plug, and the diameters of the cannulas of the main and built-in tubes are made according to the diameter of the tip of disposable syringes with a volume of 5, 10, 20 ml. The device is made of stainless steel. A method is proposed for draining the maxillary sinus in the presence of a natural fistula block, in which the plug is removed from the cannula of the built-in tube of the above device, a syringe is attached and an antiseptic solution is pumped through the built-in tube, while the lavage fluid with exudative discharge is drained through the main tube and flows out through the cannula of the main tube.

EFFECT: use of the inventions makes it possible to improve the quality and safety of surgical manipulation, reduce the duration of temporary disability of patients with acute exudative maxillary sinusitis, including blockage of the natural anastomosis, maxillary sinus cyst.
