FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for radio devices of various purposes as element base of thin-film integral high-frequency assemblies, such as separating-summing devices, microwave power amplifiers, couplers, radio-frequency multiplexers, phase changers, filters and others. Essence of the invention is that the spiral ultra-wideband microstrip quadrature directional coupler comprises two electromagnetically connected microstrip transmission lines made in the form of a flat bilifar helix located on the dielectric substrate, which reverse side is partially or completely metallized or suspended above metal surface, characterized by that number of turns of bilifar helix is more than one, wherein one spiral is turned relative to the other around their common center, and the gaps between the connected transmission lines and their transverse dimensions have constant values.
EFFECT: possibility of increasing efficiency of use of useful area of dielectric substrate and reduction of overall dimensions of device, expansion of working frequency band.
