SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the microwave technology, namely, to devices designed to separate the microwave signal. A microstrip tandem directional coupler located on a dielectric substrate, the reverse side of which is partially or completely metallized or suspended above a metal surface, made in the form of four identical 50-ohm shoulder microstrip transmission lines, two quarter-wave Lange microstrip couplers, two quarter-wave segments of the microstrip transmission line located perpendicular to the Lange couplers. In addition, two segments of a doubly connected microstrip transmission line of a quarter-wave length each, two quarter-wave segments of a microstrip transmission line, and two half-wave segments of a microstrip transmission line are introduced into the coupler. And the coupler is made in the form of two identical parts, mirror-symmetrical with respect to the vertical axis passing through the middle of the coupler. In each part, two shoulder transmission lines are connected to one end of a segment of a doubly connected transmission line, the other ends of which are connected to the ends of two Lange couplers through quarter-wave transmission line segments located perpendicular to the Lange couplers, electromagnetically linked with a half-wave transmission line connected by its ends to the same ends of the two Lange couplers.

EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of the operating frequency band to two octaves while maintaining the VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) value and the overall dimensions of the coupler.
