FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to LED lighting devices, mainly, to car headlights. Result is achieved by a device for controlling the light output of light-emitting diodes, comprising positive and negative inputs supplying supply voltage to the device, light-emitting diodes, pulse current stabilizer, control unit and electronic switch with control input. Positive input of supply of supply voltage to the device is connected to the "ground" by two electric circuits, the first of which contains a resistive voltage divider, and the second one – a resistor and an electronic switch. Method of controlling light output of light-emitting diodes is that voltage across resistor R1, which is lower arm of resistive voltage divider, are measured at two different versions of current supply, namely: at the first version current is supplied along the first electric circuit, and by the second electric circuit current is not supplied, at the second version current is supplied both along the first and the second electric circuits. At the same time values of voltages measured at resistor R1 are compared at first and second versions of current supply, and depending on results of this comparison level of light output of LEDs is changed by changing value of current supplied to light-emitting diodes.

EFFECT: independence from jumps of input voltage, exclusion of effect of flicker of light in "low light" mode and provision of possibility of smooth change of level of luminous efficiency of light-emitting diodes.
