FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to small-size nuclear power generation system. Provided is a control system in load following mode. Nuclear reaction in nuclear reactor is controlled naturally by generated heat, and small nuclear reactor is equipped with nuclear reactor core containing multiple fuel assemblies from metal fuel. Assemblies contain uranium (U) 235, 238 and/or plutonium (Pu) 239. Reactor is equipped with a heat carrier of the first circuit, which contains liquid metal, a neutron reflector for control of nuclear reaction in the core of the nuclear reactor, for encircling the periphery of the core of the nuclear reactor. Also, the reactor is equipped with a mechanism containing a liquid or gas with a large coefficient of expansion than the coefficient of expansion of the neutron reflector, which converts the coefficient of volumetric expansion into a coefficient of linear thermal expansion and by means of its use moves the neutron reflector or controls the spacing between the said multiple fuel assemblies.

EFFECT: technical result is improved safety of nuclear reactor.
