SUBSTANCE: invention relates to helicopter gas turbine engines. Method for automatic control of operating mode of a gas turbine engine of a helicopter comprises a step of obtaining data characterizing the flight of a helicopter, a step of selecting a gas turbine engine for which a mode change will be most appropriate, stage of determining the operating mode of said gas turbine engine, called selected mode and selected among a plurality of predetermined operating modes depending on said data characterizing flight of helicopter, and a step of controlling the operating mode of said gas turbine engine in said selected mode. Invention object is also the corresponding control device and the helicopter.

EFFECT: invention allows improving control efficiency of helicopter gas turbine engine operation modes.
