FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to chemical-thermal treatment, in particular, to gas nitriding of welding steels after preliminary etching and hydrogen annealing. Method consists in preliminary cleaning of article surface, operation of nitriding and further cooling of article into cold water, at that surface cleaning includes etching and hydrogen annealing.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain welding wire, in particular, of SV-10Kh19N23G2M5FAT steel, diameter from 2 to 6 mm with high stability of arc burning both in welding of pearlite and austenitic manganese steels, low tendency to hot cracks, absence of pores and high strength properties of weld metal.
