FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in systems of over-the-horizon radar ranging (OTHRR), radio sounding and radio-direction finding. Method includes radio reception of signals containing information on location and parameters of target movement, conversion of received signals into digital form and processing of digital signals S̃2, wherein during processing of digital signals S̃2 performing simultaneous calculation of functional discrepancy ΔI2 between S̃2 and reference signal and determination of cumulative errors ξ (δ, h) of received signal measurements, comparing ΔI2 with ξ (δ, h) and by the discrepancy detection criterion ΔI2 within ξ (δ, h) taking a decision on detection of useful signals containing regularized interval estimates [Ẑ] of target information parameters, then minimally-extremum of functional discrepancy inf is calculated ΔI2 and based on that, decision is made on estimates Ẑ of location and parameters of target motion by criterion of finding inf ΔI2 within interval estimates [Ẑ].
EFFECT: high reliability of over-the-horizon detection of location and motion parameters of target-location objects in conditions of uncertainty of propagation paths of radio waves and radiophysical characteristics of surface layers of the atmosphere.
