SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for fracture prediction. Method comprises steps of producing an effective width in a direction including a spot-welded section and crossing a load direction on a flat surface on which a spot-welded section of an element is provided, calculating each predetermined time interval, effective width varying in accordance with load variation, and predicting destruction of the spot-welded section using the calculated effective width. Device comprises a calculation unit which calculates each predetermined time interval, an effective width in a direction, including a spot-welded section and crossing the load direction on a flat surface, on which the spot-welded section of the element is provided, and changing according to the load change, and a prediction module which predicts the destruction of the spot-welded section using the effective width.
EFFECT: predicting destruction of a plate-welded section.
