FIELD: fault detection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for predicting discontinuities, a device for predicting discontinuities, and a method for computing a criterion for recognizing discontinuities. A break in the connecting portion of the object to be analyzed is predicted, including a pair of elements connected to each other, by using the finite element method, the method comprising: the first step in which at least the size of the element of the main material portion is obtained from the number of parameters specified in the element model for the object to be analyzed; the second stage, in which, as a criterion for recognizing discontinuities, the ultimate breaking point, given by means of a function that includes the size of the element of the main material portion as a variable is calculated; and the third stage, at which it is recognized whether the moment applied to the connecting section during the analysis of the deformations of the elemental model for the object to be analyzed exceeds the ultimate breaking point or not, and the recognition result is displayed as a result of the break prediction for the connecting portion. Device comprises a parameter acquisition module that receives at least the size of the element of the main material portion from the number of parameters specified in the element model for the object to be analyzed; a storage module that stores the ultimate breaking point determined by a function including the size of the element of the main material portion as a variable; module for calculating the criterion for recognizing discontinuities, which calculates the ultimate breaking point as a criterion for recognizing discontinuities by reading a function from the storage unit and inputting the size of the elements of the main material portion that is obtained by the parameter acquisition module into the function; and a break recognition module that recognizes whether the moment applied to the connecting section during the analysis of the deformations of the elemental model for the object to be analyzed exceeds the ultimate breaking point or not, and displays the recognition result as a result of the break prediction for the connecting portion.

EFFECT: stable obtaining of high accuracy of prediction of discontinuities depending on the size of the elements of the main material portion.
