METHOD FOR ASSESSING THE DEGREE OF COGNITIVE-MOTOR DISORDERS BY HAND FINE MOTOR Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/16

Abstract RU 2694513 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology, restorative medicine, rehabilitation, and can be used for assessing degree of manifestation of cognitive-motor disintegration based on integrity of hand fine motor function and for early detection of cognitive disorders, characterized by no active complaints of the patient on memory impairment. That is ensured by interviewing a patient for right-handedness and left-handedness. Motor skills are assessed by the motor dexterity index. Patient performs a single task (ST): draws the maximum possible number of vertical sticks of specified size 5–7 mm for a fixed time selected from the range of values from 10 to 15 seconds. Patient performs a double task (DT) – drawing of the above sticks in cognitive load, as a patient in drawing successively subtracts number 7 from the selected number from 100 and more. Severity of cognitive-motor disorders is determined based on the results of comparing the obtained results of ST and DT. Conclusion on high severity of cognitive-motor disorders is made when obtaining fewer bar-sticks when performing DT compared to ST by 62 % and higher. Conclusion of moderate disorders is made at obtaining value up to 62 %.

EFFECT: method enables quantitative assessment of degree of manifestation of even initial cognitive disorders in patients depending on manifestation of motor function of hand in patients.
