METHOD FOR ESTIMATING STATUS OF MOTOR FUNCTION OF HAND Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B5/103

Abstract RU 2371088 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, namely neurology. Hand motions are recorded with digital camera of measuring frequency 120 Hz and light-reflecting hemispherical markers with 23 markers applied for each hand. The patient with open and closed eyes performs abduction and adduction of 1, 2, 5 fingers in turn, right and left deflection of the hand, fan-like opening and closing of fingers of the healthy, diseased hand and both hands simultaneously. Then after 5-second ideomotor simulations, the patient performs movements once again in the same sequence with open eyes. After that motion diagrams of fingers and hands are plotted, and deviations from healthy indices are determined. Higher duration of the first cycle phase more than 41-44 ms, reduction of the peak amplitude of oscillatory motions in dispersion of one complete cycle lower than 0.34-0.36 m, reduction of average amplitude of motion diagram of one complete cycle lower than 0.17-0.18 m, flatness of the average curve sinusoid, elongation of the first cycle phase, increase in number of cycles in the performed task 16 and more indicate motor dysfunction of hand.

EFFECT: method extends range of aids to estimate status of motor function of hand.
