FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel electrochemical synthesis of dimethyl disulfide peroxide (dimesylate peroxide), involving electrolysis of concentrated 4.0–12.0 M solutions of methane sulphonic acid in an anode compartment of a diaphragm electrolysis cell within anode current density (0.025–0.1 A/cm2) with further cooling to T=-14 °C and separation of solid substance from solution anolyte – dimethyl disulfide peroxide (dimselyate peroxide).
EFFECT: absence of by-products during electrooxidation process.
