FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyrotechnic cartridges for generating signal lights when fired from a smooth-bore weapon. Signal cartridge includes sleeve with axial bottom electric igniter, adjacent to blow-out charge, connected by means of stop with functional pyrotechnical equipment of carrying container, coaxially installed with possibility of relative longitudinal movement in sleeve equipped with wad and closed by cover. Pyrotechnical outfit is made in the form of a pellet from pyrotechnic composition, during combustion emitting in visible frequency range, which is equipped with weighted head part and is placed above propellant powder charge at the bottom of container, placed in sleeve with annular gap in interrelation with wad resting on its blowdown charge.

EFFECT: proposed technical solution due to self-contained flight of functional checker in missile bullet, additionally thrown from carrying container at specified shooting distance, provides for an additional rise to the height of the aerosol formation generated during combustion in the form of a bright light signal which is clearly visible and distinguishable at a distance.
