FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ice-breakers and can be used in making ice crossings. Method consists in the fact that the bearing capacity of the ice cover is increased by means of pipes lowered under the ice cover through the through holes made in the ice cover on both edges of the crossing along its entire length. Pipes are communicated with atmospheric air. Pipes are made corrugated from heat-conducting resilient material. Corrugating pipes are springs. Pipes connected to each other, in compressed state, are placed into a container, when it is placed under ice and its subsequent opening with compressed springs pipes are able under ice to form a grid of pipes, which are interconnected by air.
EFFECT: higher reliability of ice crossing operation is ensured by ensuring independence of its carrying capacity against water level fluctuations in water reservoir.
