FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to veterinary science and surgical orthopedics, and can be used for implantation of an osteointegrated prosthesis in animals. Osteointegrated prosthesis is made in the form of a cylindrical part with a perforated flange in the middle part. Prosthesis is implanted into the limb bone of the extremity of animals after suffering amputation. Surgical approach to the amputated limb of an animal is performed. Transverse through holes with internal thread are made on the introductory part of the prosthesis. At end of tail part groove is made, which is oriented along inlet part, and on flange on the side of tail part there made is round chamfer. After surgical approach to the amputated extremity of the animal, the intramedular bone canal is drilled to the length and diameter required for insertion of the introductory part. Prosthesis is placed tightly against the amputated bone segment. Intraosseous component of the prosthesis is screwed into the bone through an external part of the prosthesis. Conductor screwed in threaded hole of outer part of prosthesis is drilled screw hole. Then, successive introduction of screws is performed. Operation wound is closed in the operation end.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of recovering the function of the suspected limb postoperative capacity immediately after the operation due to the prosthesis design and the fixation method.
