FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to tool steel for cold processing. Steel consists of, wt. %: C 0.5–2.1, N 1.3–3.5, Si 0.05–1.2, Mn 0.05–1.5, Cr 2.5–5.5, Mo 0.8–1.95, V 7–18, optionally one or more of: P ≤ 0.05, S ≤ 0.5, W ≤ 0.40, Cu ≤ 3, Co ≤ 12, Ni ≤ 3, Nb ≤ 2, Ti ≤ 0.1, Zr ≤ 0.1, Ta ≤ 0.1, B ≤ 0.6, Be ≤ 0.2, Bi ≤ 0.2, Se ≤ 0.3, Ca 0.0003–0.009, Mg ≤ 0.01, REM ≤ 0.2, the rest is Fe and impurities. Amount of carbides and carbonitrides present in the steel microstructure satisfies the following requirements, vol. %: MX 15–35, M6X 0–3, M7X3 0–1, M23X6 0–1, where M is one or more of V, Cr and Mo, and X is C and/or N and, if necessary, B.
EFFECT: steel has improved combination of properties for more perfect cold treatment.
