METHOD OF TREATING AN ILZE'S DISEASE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/08 A61K31/573 A61K47/69 A61P27/02

Abstract RU 2696045 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for treating Ilze's disease. Treatment is started on the inflammatory stage of the disease, guided by the presence of macular edema. Glucocorticosteroid Ozurdex® is administered intravitreal in the form of an implant. In 7–14 days thereafter, retinal laser coagulation is performed. First, by laser Nd:YAG laser test applicates are applied on retina in test area identical in thickness and distribution of pigment to area of planned laser coagulation. Series of ophthalmoscopical visualized laser applicates is pre-applied using wavelength of 659 nm, a pulse duration of 100 ms, a duty cycle of 100 ms, power of 70 to 200 mWt, an applicator diameter of 200–300 mcm. That is followed by applying two series of ophthalmoscopical nonvisualized laser applicates, reducing the pulse duration by 25 %, then by 50 %. Immediately thereafter, an optical coherent tomography of the test area is performed. Obtained scans are used to define test laser applicates with minimum parameters that provide a therapeutic effect. That is followed by laser coagulation of the retina with the selected parameters.

EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness and reduced probable delayed complications due to timely initiation of local therapy with a glucocorticosteroid preparation and individually selected selective low-traumatic high-effect in laser retinal coagulation in the area of edema, allowing to minimize laser damage and laser destructive destructiveness.
