METHOD FOR TWO-DIMENSIONAL MONOPULSE DIRECTION FINDING OF RADIO EMISSION SOURCES Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01S5/04

Abstract RU 2696095 C1

FIELD: radio engineering and communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in multichannel monopulse detectors-direction finders of radio monitoring systems, placed, including on unmanned aerial vehicles, for two-dimensional monopulse direction finding of radio emission sources along azimuth and elevation angle, as well as when determining location of ground objects by radio emissions of their transmitters. In the method, radio signals are received using antennas forming an N-element helical antenna array with a total number of antennae of at least three; conversion of complex amplitudes of received radio signals in mesh nodes of grid guidance into angular spectrum is performed by formula

,

where Ṡn is complex amplitude of radio signal received by n-th antenna; Xh, Yh, Zh – coordinates of the h-th grid guidance grid node with the current number h, ω=Δh/R is the ratio of the screw line pitch Δh to the generating cylinder radius R; λ is radio wave length; ε = 1 for β>0 and ε = -1 for β<0; n is antenna number; i is imaginary unit; π = 3.1415926.

EFFECT: high accuracy of direction-finding and resolution of a monopulse OP on the elevation angle with insignificant increase in the weight and size characteristics of the OP is ensured by selecting the configuration of the antenna system.
