FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil refining and petrochemistry, to a catalytic oxidative composition for desulphurisation of crude oil under mild conditions, with reduced kinematic and dynamic viscosity. Method for desulphurisation of crude oil includes preparation of an oxidative composition, oxidation of oil with a catalytic oxidative composition, at that obtained mix is stirred for 2–6 hours, followed by multistage extraction with acetone and water. Catalytic oxidative composition for desulphurisation of crude oil includes an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide with concentration of 10 to 20 wt%, salt containing a transition metal of group 6 of the periodic table, soluble in H2O2, and fatty acid from 11 to 17 carbon atoms, soluble in H2O2, with following ratio in molar ratio: transition metal of group 6 : sulfur in oil = 1:200 to 1:50; hydrogen peroxide : sulfur in oil = 1:1 to 4:1; fatty acid from 11 to 17 carbon atoms: sulfur in oil = 0.5:1 to 2:1. Extraction mixture contains acetone and water in the following ratio by volume : acetone: oil volume = 0.5:1 to 4:1; acetone : water = 1:0.05 to 1:0.2.

EFFECT: high degree of removal of sulfur from crude oil (up to 70 %), reduced viscosity of oil (from 2,623 to 2,13 cSt), reaction under mild conditions (20–60 °C, atmospheric pressure, constant stirring at rate of 500 rpm).
