FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment. Laser sensor module for time-of-flight measurements comprises a surface emitting laser (100) with a vertical resonator (VCSEL or VECSEL) and setting circuit (120). Master circuit (120) is configured to supply electric power to laser (100) such that it emits laser pulses (345) with pulse duration (356) less than 100 ns and duty cycle less than 5 % compared to continuous laser radiation. Driving circuit (120) is further configured to supply additional power to laser (100) in at least 100 ns to a portion of laser pulses (345). At that, setting circuit (120) is configured to supply preliminary current (335) to laser (100), at which no laser light is emitted to part of laser pulses (345), wherein preliminary current (335) is set such that a laser aperture of the surface radiation laser (100) with a vertical resonator generates a smoothed temperature profile such that thermal lens (140) is formed on the laser aperture.
EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling improvement of quality of laser beam.
