SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of generating an encoded bit audio stream. Encoded bit audio stream is obtained, wherein the encoded bit audio stream contains audio data and dynamic range control (DRC) metadata. DRC metadata represent or contain metadata of the DRC profile indicating whether the DRC metadata contains the DRC control values to be used when executing the DRC in accordance with the DRC profile. Method includes obtaining metadata of DRC profile from encoded bitstream. Based on DRC profile metadata, DRC metadata is determined to contain DRC control values. Coded bit stream is processed to obtain audio data and DRC control values. Performing DRC of audio data in accordance with DRC profile with application of DRC control values.

EFFECT: technical result is to improve the efficiency of audio data encoding.
