SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding audio with volume metadata. Encoded bit audio stream is segmented into one or more frames. Audio data and a metadata container are extracted from the encoded bit audio stream. Metadata container comprises a header and one or more metadata content after the header. One or more metadata content metadata comprises metadata indicating the audio data volume processing state. Metadata indicating the audio data volume processing state represent or include metadata indicating at least one type of volume processing performed over audio data. Adaptive loudness processing is performed using at least some metadata indicating audio data volume processing state.

EFFECT: technical result is to improve the efficiency of audio coding.
